Developer Update: Moddio Game Engine 2.3.0 – 2.3.5 Release
We’re excited to share the new engine versions for our creators! This will include all the 2.3 engine version changes. We recommend you use the latest version of the engine in order to get the most up-to-date features and bug fixes. More details below:

- Improved particle actions within the editor

- Made it so camera offset is applied relatively
- Added a condition where projectile uses owner rotation if there is none body on item

Editor
- Added basic lighting to 3D and to the editor
- Added new particle actions to scripts
- Made a patch for abilities
- Render tiles at correct sizes when not using 64 x 64 pixels
- [Bug fix] Updated the dialogue context menu and fixed crash
Engine
- Allow not streamed units to move on client-side
What’s New in 2.3.5:
Editor
- Made the variable/attribute “Can be updated by Map” default to True for World games
Engine
- Added forceToCreateSensor and fixed the incorrect position of entities which was created by initEntities
- Show/hide the environment when players enter/leave the Play tab
- Made unit’s StreamMode=2 movement (client-authoritative movement) more smooth from other players’ perspective
- Set item offset when flipping
- [Bug fix] Made a fix for a bug that prevented chat messages from being sent out
- [Bug fix] Fixed an issue that prevented streamMode=2 units from moving when client-side physics was disabled
- [Bug fix] Item anchor/offset was not working correctly
- [Bug fix] System messages are no longer considered as spam
- [Bug fix] Made a fix for ghost bodies when Destroy and Scale are being called
- [Bug fix] Spawn sensors automatically
Getting Started with 2.3:
If you haven’t already, go try the new version in your own games! Go to www.modd.io and select the game you’d like to change engine versions. Click on Editor > Game Settings >Engine tab. You will see a field labeled “Engine Version” and you can change this to “2.3.5” to try out the newest features listed above..
