An updated version of my old The Era and a Realm of Modd Forums topic. It still might be incorrect, or outdated. If you have suggestions about the past, feel free to reply as long it isn’t off-topic.
Creation of the Forum
The forums was created all the way back in 2nd January 2019 (which was 6 years ago as of this topic’s date) for talking about modd.io, support and more. This forum is from Discourse, which is an open-source forum.
Back then, badges are very less known and people thought it was just cosmetic, and nobody talked about them for a while. What the early forum consisted of, is just helping other people with games, talking about the forums and more. Unlike Discord, priority support is diminished here because there are not that much people in the Forums.
There was an “Uncategorized” category, which was for topics that hasn’t been categorized yet. It was seemingly the old General Discussion that we’re used to it.
Early Ages of Forum (after 6 months of creation)
With some people that realized there was a forum to chat on, more topics began to rise as its popularity increases for a short period of time.
These topics, as mentioned are just bug reports, helping with their game and chatting. The forums during 2019 all the way through early 2023 was just a playground for people. Formerly, the forum was restricted to making modd.io-only topics but that loosened overtime.
There were no dramas during these events, probably because not that much people knew about the forum.
Middle Ages of Forum (2020 through 2022)
The Middle Ages of this Forum was still like from 2019 because the Modd.io related content arose but therre are some people that don’t follow but it didn’t matter them since there are no moderators at that time that just watch the topics.
One thing that many people invited other people to try out the Forum. This happened somewhere between 2020 and 2021. The forums has expanded to become slightly active so that priority support likelihood arose. If you joined during these times, you may likely just feel the forum different than what we’re used to it now. These were so good, that there were no dramas that happened there.
The death of the Forum begun somewhere in 2022, that caused people to leave the Forum, due to priority helping just being shrunk, or people switched to Discord for a faster support. Uncategorized topics has been on outburst stage for few months, because they will replace it with the controversial category.
After December 2022, the uncategorized topics came to an end, due to General Discussion being added to replace, which later evolved to cause dangerous dramas. Up until 2023, no signs of off-topic arose, until February 2023, which made a topic that change the forums massively.
The Worst Year of the Forum (2023)
2023 was the worst year for the Forums due to off-topics and dramas that made it very hard to evade.
