It seems now this Forum is not as lively as it was two months ago, but I will stay here for the time being. Today I will tell you the realm, or a site map of modd.io or its related content.

I. History
Although all of you will know about modd.io to some extent, not many of you will know when it started. I don’t know the exact date, but it started in in late October of 2017 and has been up there for more than 6 years. The Forum was created on Jan 3, 2019 at https://moddio.discourse.group/, and renewed on Jan 3, 2023 to https://www.modd.io/forum. It was forked from the repository of Discourse group, a template of an online forum.

II. Components (Internal)

  1. Modd.io:

    The main content. It is a platform where you can create a multiplayer 3D game without typing a single
    line of code within minutes. The most popular game is Braains.io, followed by lots of games.

    You can find your best game based on several criteria.

    The games you own or are a contributor of.

    20 videos by m0dE and brilliant community members are listed there for beginners.

  5. Modd.io Coins:

    The developers must be funded from you to maintain this community.

  6. Blog:

    Random posts or tips probably written by one of the devs. Rarely read by the playerbase.

    The rules of modd.io. Unfortunately, ToS has a single point that does not reflect the reality of the community, but it is worth reading.

    The place where we are now. Some functionalities in the discord server were transferred to it in January 2023, such as basic editor help, scripting help, suggestions, and bugs. However, due to the advent of nolt.io board and strong objections by the community to migrate, it has become hushed once again sadly.

    A game of tag, where zombies catch humans running around or in two houses. Made in 2017. There are thousands of forked versions of it. It was by far the most popular game in modd.io, but recently, “Mods” system on the homepage has been undermining its imperative position at a slow rate.

  11. Not Found

    You will be transferred to the page when a page does not exist in the service. Plus, game cards are shown below, saying “But don’t despair!”

  12. Forbidden error
    https://www.modd.io/404/
    It is shown when you try to access private games so close to 403. Back then, you were able to see only the game map even if it was private, but now it is not shown.

  13. Create (Get Started)
    Why you should start making games in modd.io. The main reason is time saving.

  14. beta.modd.io
    You got the subdomain of “beta” if you had a tier 1 or 2 game in 2021 or early 2022. At that time, a lot of destructive change happened to the modd.io engine. Now it is automatically redirected to modd.io.

    Taro engine is currently open-sourced, so it is possible to run a game offline and point out or issue pull request for bugs or suggestions. taro2 is the latest, while taro is the legacy version.

    A top-down 3D braains.io made with Unity. It has been published for more than 3 years, and is different from braains or braains-3d.

  4. Braains-3d
    Braains 3D by m0dE, sloont
    Braains.io has become 3D!!! It is a project independent of modd.io engine. You need to download a software to execute the game.

  5. Youtube channels of m0dE:
    m0dE - YouTube
    The Youtube channel of m0dE, the original founder of modd.io. There are useful tips and tutorials as to modd.io or its related projects. It functioned as an official video statement before the official channel was created.

    Official Youtube channel of modd.io. A replay of the Community Days and short videos about Braains.io and new games are there.

  7. Discord:
    Modd.io
    The official modd.io discord with around 12.3K people. You can ask skilled game devs for help there or hang out with peers. Moreover, you can look back on or discuss the long history of modd.io since its creation. On top of that, you can receive latest update information and contact the developers in many cases. If you want to talk about it in earnest, you can’t choose not to join.

  8. Braains Discord:

    The official discord server with around 31.6K people. If you want to talk about topics specific to braains, you should go there instead of modd.io discord.

  9. Twitter:

    Modd.io has a twitter account. The person in charge has been tweeting things related to modd.io, Web3, or game development in general from time to time. It has more than 3K followers. Oh, that’s so many.

  10. Trello Board:
    Trello
    A place gathering community feedback / suggestions / bug reports. Topics made in the Forum are transferred to the board automatically or manually. It was notified to the public to prompt them to use the Forum instead of discord server to make a plea. However, it seems dormant in April 2023.

  11. Nolt.io forum:
    Moddio Feature Suggestion Board Feedback
    Staff will hear your suggestions or bug reports there. You can upvote posts that you like to increase the chance of adoption. It has partially replaced the Forum in April 2023.

  12. Modd Guidelines:
    Notion – The all-in-one workspace for your notes, tasks, wikis, and databases.
    A guideline published on Mar 9, 2023 that tells you the criteria of punishments and tier 2 request by the moderators.

  13. Solan.io
    A NFT project about modd.io in 2021. 1,000 planets were sold for 2.5 SOL each, and the holders were given tier 2 with their NFT tokens. More than 500 planets were sold, but the sale ended in late 2022, and the website became inaccessible in early 2023. However, you can still enter the token in the Legacy Editor.

    The official account of modd.io in Facebook. Staff in charge had been posting an image charactarized as the blue background color once a day until Decemeber 15, 2022. It is now dormant, but it is still worth visiting.

    The official account of modd.io in Instagram. Staff in charge is posting images/videos. Not a few of them overlap with the ones posted in other platforms, such as Facebook or Tiktok.

    This page explains about Mod Studio Inc., The operating company of modd.io. It is mainly for those who want to work there.

  5. Upwork

    This page may have been created to scout talented programmers or designers, explaining Mod Studio Inc.

  6. Twitch

    The former link is directed to m0dE’s twitch account, where community days event took place several times at some points between 2020 and 2021. The latter account was used in 2017 only once and has been quiet since then.

  7. Modd.io App in Google Store

    Now modd.io is available on mobile devices! It has been developed at a rapid pace recently. You can get 10 coins every other day by opening a chest only for mobile devices.

  8. Braains.io App in Google Store
    braains.io - Google Play
    It has been there for more than 4 years, so it has a long history. You can only play braains with this app, but can still claim treasure box coins.

  9. Sibforms
    There you can subscribe to us and stay updated on everything Moddio. You need to join your discord server to access that page because it seems only to the member of the discord server.

  10. Airtable
    You can submit a testimonial for modd.io there. It seems private only to the discord members, so I didn’t list the link.

    There are 13 jams in total held by m0dE or modd.io team as of May 2, 2023.
